Apple’s computers for everyone are 30 years old. Look at how far they’ve come

On January 22, 1984, Apple aired an ad promising that personal computing would save us from a totalitarian future. While it’s debatable if they actually saved us from a dystopia, they’ve certainly made good on their promise to bring computers to the masses. To show how far the company has come, here’s a chart comparing the original Macintosh to an iPhone 5c.

It might seem strange to compare the original to an iPhone. After all, the latest iMac feels like more of a direct descendant. However, no other Apple product has done a better job than the iPhone of proving the company’s thesis that computers are for everyone.
