This chart from iResearch shows the most popular WeChat functions based on results from 3,862 mobile internet users surveyed in China. Circle of friends, also known as WeChat Moments, was the most popular function at 66.7% – consisting of a feed of photos, status updates, and links aggregated from each user’s network of contacts. Of particular interest is the relatively low popularity of text chat, which came in fifth place with 46.1% usage. Together, these figures capture WeChat’s evolution from its messaging roots to a platform for sharing and influence. [iResearch]

[iResearch]
