This is a very busy month for venture capital firm East Ventures as it announces another funding news this week. This time, it put in an undisclosed amount in Valuklik, an Indonesia-based online agency that offers SEO, SEM, and advanced Analytics services to clients.

The Valuklik team will use the cash to strengthen its services and expand their offerings to paid social and mobile marketing. “Our mission is to boost awareness of the importance in digital performance marketing and to create effective digital presence for our clients that drives real business results,” says co-founder Cleosent Randing.

Indonesia’s ad spending is projected to be US$420 million in 2014, and will reach US$720 million in 2015. Valuklik currently has 30 team members in Jakarta and Malang to fill that market.

Offering more options to clients

Valuklik is founded by Randing and former Rocket Internet executive Liviu Nedef. Randing started Valuklik two years ago as there were few SEO/SEM agencies in Indonesia. Prior to this, he also started a call center company in Jakarta which is still operating today. Liviu, who previously was the head of marketing at Lazada Philippines, joined the team recently.

Valuklik has seen “a double digit” growth in the last six months. The team has worked with big organizations from different industries which include Telkomsel (telco), Enfagrow (dairy product), and BCA (bank). Randing identifies other agencies like DGTraffic, iProspect, and groupM Interaction as their competitors. “We strive to deliver higher KPIs through our best-of-class talents, the right technology, insights, and Valuklik’s proprietary tools to achieve measurable business outcomes,” says Randing.

Nedef says that many of their competitors still focus on single touch points. He adds, “We understand that today’s consumers are interacting with companies across many different channels and devices and know exactly what needs to be done to make them work together.”

The duo say that one of the biggest challenges in running Valuklik is hiring good quality talents. They are on the look for marketers who drive digital performance, and are committed to becoming one of the local leaders in Indonesia.
