Singapore-based Booster Pack studio, best known for snagging US$1.475 million in funding from Cyberworld Studios, Ariel Star Group, and Kathrein Ventures last year, has finally revealed its hand. The startup recently revealed it would be focusing on premium IP, and now some of its hard work has finally come to light. This officially licensed game is built around James Cameron’s Avatar.
Booster Pack CEO Kent Byers shared this post on his Facebook recently, calling it Booster Pack’s first game., hough it’s unclear what genre it will end up undertaking. The photo post’s caption says players will be able to “take on the role of a young Na’vi as you run, dodge, and ride your way” through the Avatar world, and that they can earn abilities and outfits as they level up. At the moment, it sounds like it could be a running game.
Booster Pack is led by Byers and his ex-LucasArts colleagues Shane Gavin, Chris Chu, and Benjamin Chevalier. They started the studio after the closure last year of LucasArts Singapore. Booster Pack has also ceased to be in a partnership with investor Cyberworld Studios.
