Startup Asia Jakarta 2014 was a fun event. We had a great time organizing it and hope everybody in attendance enjoyed the event as much as we did. Held on November 26 and 27, the tech conference was our third edition in Indonesia, and our eighth major conference.
Now we happily announce that it was our biggest Startup Asia to date with 2,202 participants, up strongly from last year’s 1,255 attendees. We count it based on the number of people who were physically present at Startup Asia Jakarta.
The event drew more crowds on all fronts and in every area of the venue – not just the main stage. For example, there was the Speed Dating program, which gives a way for new startups to introduce themselves to the world. It was formed into three concurrent stakeholders – investors, companies, and media – generating about 700 pitches throughout the session, with 33 investors, 14 companies, and seven media outlets meeting an array of startups.
Jublia, the networking app we used at Startup Asia, also got good traction – 1,391 attendees used it, resulting in 3,652 successful connections. You can find more information regarding the event in the following infographic, nicely compiled by our friends at Piktochart.
