Inovidea Magna Global’s PicMix is a famous photo editing app from Indonesia that went viral in 2013 and surpassed 15 million users. During the same period, Instagram users around the world also took a liking to the app, as it allowed them to add frames and other cool stuff to pictures before posting and sharing with friends. PicMix soon partnered with the likes of local chat app KakaoTalk and Silicon Valley-based social network Path to become a globally recognized brand in the photo sharing space.
However, since last year, Inovidea has been quietly venturing into the mobile gaming space. It already has several titles available on Google Play, the latest one being Copong, published on December 30.
Essentially, the game is a simple remake of the classic Pong that people know and love. However Copong is set in an Indonesian graveyard and the gameplay is significantly faster than the first level of traditional Pong.

Players assume the role of an Indonesian ghost who comes alive at night to pass the time by playing the simple yet addicting game. The goal is to keep a ball bouncing off an annoyed talking tree with a single tap on the screen. The game is hard in the same way that Flappy Bird is, as one mistap will spell a swift game over, accompanied by a discouraging insult from the game like “Nitwit,” “Noob” or “Dork,” and an immediate ADHD-style reset.
Any score higher than five would indicate that the player has dedicated at least an hour to the casual mobile game. Copong is sure to get your friends asking questions, as it emits eerie graveyard sounds and shrieking noises each time a player fumbles the ball.
In the past nine days, Copong has been installed between 100,000 and 500,000 times on Google Play and received 67 five-star ratings from users. Currently, Inovidea’s official website is under construction, but Google Play suggests the firm has been busy with games, as it shows eight titles available from Inovidea. The Apple App Store does not feature any of the game titles. Tech in Asia has reached out to Inovidea Magna Global for more in-depth coverage on its activities in the mobile game space.
