Sourcing talent can be a major problem for startups everywhere. Once your team needs to expand beyond the core founders, finding a good fit can be tough and time-consuming. But if you’re doing a startup in China, there’s a new “holiday” being set up to help you. You’ve heard of the 11/11 shopping day? Meet the 12/12 startup hiring day.
China’s Entrepreneur magazine/website and tech-focused job search website Jobtong are working together to host an online startup recruitment event on December 12. Promotions promise that the event will include 1,000 currently-hiring startups and 10,000 job candidates. The event is set up to be just like the online ecommerce bonanza that is 11/11 Singles Day. “The job positions are like the products, the job candidates are like the buyers, and the founders are like the sellers,” reads an ad for the event on iHeiMa.
If you’re the founder of a China-based startup and you want to get involved, all you need to do is scan the QR code on the right (though you’ll need someone who can speak Chinese to help you navigate the process). Once you’re registered, just show up online on December 12 and start interviewing candidates.
If the event really does manage to attract 10,000 job-seekers, chances are decent you’ll be able to find the right person for whatever openings you might have amongst the masses. Here’s hoping that it takes off in the same way that 11/11 has, so that a few years from now there are millions of job-seekers looking to ply their trade for China’s tech startups.
