1. Nota, Inc. | Japan


Nota Inc. is the Kyoto-based startup behind cloud-powered screenshot app Gyazo, which allows users to instantly upload screenshots to the cloud and share them with custom URLs. The app recently won best pitch at Innovation Weekend Osaka and will be competing for the grand prize in Tokyo next month.


The startup also announced a series A fundraising round led by Opt and joined by Yahoo Japan’s YJ Capital subsidiary and Miyako Capital (Kyoto University’s investment fund).



2. BitX | Singapore


Singapore-based company BitX recently released a mobile Bitcoin wallet for the iOS and Android that could meet these lofty consumer expectations. Its philosophy echoes that of other consumer-oriented wallets like Hive, but with a bit more polish.



3. Tripoto | India


Launched in 2013, Delhi-based startup Tripoto lets them share their travel experiences, post itineraries and stories along with pictures, maps, and reviews. The company just raised a seed round of funding to become more tech-savvy at doing this.



4. SALt | Philippines


SALt or Sustainable Alternative Lighting’s goal is “to give light to as many homes as possible.” SALt’s lamp looks nothing extraordinary – it also makes use of a LED bulb. However, the lighting system doesn’t require electricity, batteries or even fuel to run. All it needs are two basic and natural things: salt and water.



5. iCarAsia | Malaysia


Malaysia-based automotive marketplace iCar Asia this week jumped to the head of the pack in Thailand with the acquisition of one of the country’s largest vehicle classifieds sites, One2Car. The latter will be combined with iCar Asia’s native Thai website, ThaiCar, which the firm acquired earlier last year.



6. Cupick | India


Cupick is an online platform for artists to showcase, sell, and promote their art virtually. The idea is to make art accessible and affordable to masses. The startup also offers a space for artists who wish to raise funds for social causes.



7. IndoKasih | Indonesia


Launched three months ago, IndoKasih is an Indonesian social charity crowdfunding site for individuals looking to raise funds for good causes through friends or communities on social media.



8. Startup92 | Pakistan


Startup92 is a brand new online site that is built around a newsletter and a startup jobs board. The newsletter is meant to accessible to entrepreneurs, investors, or interested spectators and the jobs board already has some listed openings at interesting local startups such as Groopic, Markhor, and TechJuice. According to the founder, more features will be added on later.



9. Jandi | South Korea


Jandi is a business communication platform for PC, iOS, and Android devices that allows teams to securely and instantly communicate while also easily being able to share files, search through past messages, and more. This week, the startup revealed that it has raised an angel round of nearly US$2 million, co-led by Softbank Ventures and Cherubic Ventures.



10. GetCRAFT | Indonesia


GetCRAFT is an Indonesian site that connects brands and agencies with local publishers, writers, and videographers, giving publishers and media outlets that are struggling to make money from digital banners, subscriptions, and events, access to new revenue streams that still have yet to fully develop in the country.
